Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia is poised to leave Old Trafford on loan during the January transfer window, according to a report.
The Red Devils splashed out £13m in the summer of 2022 to sign Malacia from Feyenoord as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw, who has struggled to remain fit over the last few seasons.
However, despite being considered one of Europe's brightest young full-backs during his time in Rotterdam, Malacia has largely struggled to make a significant impact at Old Trafford.
Last season, the 25-year-old spent the entire campaign on the sidelines nursing an injury before returning to the first team in November, but he has failed to lock down his spot with Diogo Dalot regularly being given the nod at left-back by Ruben Amorim.

Malacia closing in on loan move this month
Reports in recent weeks have suggested that United informed Malacia that he was 'free to leave' this month, with a loan move looking the most likely option.
According to Voetball International, the 25-year-old defender has now reached an agreement to depart Old Trafford on loan this month until the end of the campaign.
Although Malacia's destination has not been confirmed, it is understood that he has agreed with United that his best option in the short term is to leave the club and secure more playing time elsewhere.
The Dutchman made his first appearance of the season in United's 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, playing 45 minutes, but has since managed only 199 minutes of game time across all competitions.
His current contract with the Red Devils runs until the end of the 2025-26 season and includes an option to extend for an additional year.

Man United considering defensive additions this month
Malcia's potential departure comes as Amorim seeks additional reinforcements at left-back, with reports linking the Red Devils with Paris Saint-Germain star Nuno Mendes.
It is understood that Mendes, who previously worked under Amorim at Sporting, was identified as the ideal candidate to slot into the Portuguese manager's defensive system alongside the likes of Matthijs De Ligt, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui.
However, L'Equipe report that the 22-year-old defender has changed his mind and will now sign a new contract with PSG after previously refusing to do so due to the interest from Man Utd and other clubs.
The Red Devils have also been credited with an interest in the services of Milos Kerkez, Patrick Dorgu, Theo Hernandez and Alphonso Davies in recent weeks.
Man United are in 13th place in the Premier League standings and will return to action on Sunday when they play host to Brighton & Hove Albion.
