Manchester United 'join Giovani Lo Celso race'

Manchester United reportedly join Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

Manchester United have reportedly joined the race for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

The 23-year-old recently completed a permanent move to Betis, having been on loan with the Spanish outfit from Paris Saint-Germain since the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

Lo Celso ended the recent season as Betis's leading scorer, netting 16 times in all competitions.

Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with a summer swoop and are reportedly prepared to pay £53m to land the Argentine as a replacement for Christian Eriksen.

However, according to Marca, United 'are also contemplating a move' for the playmaker, who has an £88m release clause in his current deal at the Benito Villamarin.

Lo Celso, who is a 12-time Argentina international, scored six times in 54 games for PSG before leaving the French champions last summer.
