Harry Kane will be the subject of a big-money bid from Manchester United next summer should he fail to commit his future to Tottenham Hotspur, a report claims.

Manchester United are reportedly closely following developments regarding Harry Kane's contract situation at Tottenham Hotspur, as they are looking to bring another big-name striker to Old Trafford.

The England international has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal in North London, despite the Lilywhites tying down a number of their star players in recent months.

Recent reports suggested that Kane was refusing to commit due to chairman Daniel Levy's reluctance to increase the wage bill, but boss Mauricio Pochettino claims that he is not overly concerned with the stand-off at this point.

That could soon change, however, as the 23-year-old - under contract at White Hart Lane until 2020 - is said to be wanted by Premier League rivals Man United in the New Year.

The Mirror claims that the Red Devils are willing to wait until next summer before making an approach, knowing that Kane is unlikely to have reopened talks with Spurs in the meantime as Levy is determined not to bow to the striker's supposed wage demands.

United are not alone in keeping a close eye on developments, however, with the same report suggesting that a number of other European clubs - including Bayern Munich - are preparing to make big-money bids should Kane fail to commit his future.
