Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a big-money offer for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Red Devils were linked with a move for the Senegal international during the summer transfer window before ultimately breaking the transfer record for a centre-back to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
Question marks remain over Victor Lindelof's suitability to the Premier League, though, while the likes of Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones have struggled to convince in that area of the field.
According to Calciomercato, despite spending big on Maguire over the summer, United are still considering a swoop for Koulibaly after a revelation from Aurelio de Laurentiis.
Indeed, the Napoli president has conceded that there will come a time where the Italian giants are forced to sell the 28-year-old, who is in his sixth season with Gli Azzurri.
That said, De Laurentiis is believed to value the Senegal international in the region of £90m, meaning that United would likely have to break the transfer record for a central defender in order to complete a deal.
Koulibaly, who has also been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid over the last 12 months, has a contract at the Stadio San Paolo until the summer of 2023.
