Manchester United are told to pay around £50m if they want to sign Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich, according to a report.

Bayern Munich have reportedly informed Manchester United that it will take an offer of around £50m to land Jerome Boateng this summer.

The German champions are willing to offload the 29-year-old if his valuation is met, as he has just two years left to run on his existing contract.

United are in the market for another centre-back, with Boateng rumoured to be one of eight players eyed up by Jose Mourinho, and the Manchester Evening News suggests that the Red Devils have now been set a price.

Boateng, who has also attracted rumoured interest from Juventus, would be a cheaper alternative for United than first-choice target Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho has already recruited Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof in the last two summer windows for a combined outlay of £61m.
