Manchester United reportedly turned down the chance to sign Aaron Ramsey earlier this summer in a deal that would have seen Nemanja Matic move in the opposite direction to Juventus.
Ramsey's future in Turin continues to be called into question, with the Wales international thought to be available for transfer in the current window.
Matic, meanwhile, still has two years left to run on his deal at Old Trafford, but the 33-year-old is down the pecking order when it comes to starting positions in the Man United midfield.
According to journalist Duncan Castles, the 20-time English champions were offered the opportunity to sign Ramsey with Matic moving the other way, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's rejected the proposal.
"Juventus have during the summer proposed a swap deal for Nemanja Matic which would have seen Aaron Ramsey going the other way for United. It was rejected by the Manchester club," Castles told The Transfer Window podcast.
Ramsey previously played in the Premier League for Arsenal between 2008 and 2019, making 369 appearances for the Gunners before joining Juventus on a free transfer.
