Manchester United eye Norwegian midfielder?

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly considering a move for fellow Norwegian Mathias Normann, a defensive midfielder playing for Rostov.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keeping tabs on Rostov's Norwegian midfielder Mathias Normann.

The under-pressure Manchester United boss has previously managed Normann at Molde, having signed him on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Solskjaer is thought to have earmarked his compatriot as a low-cost alternative to struggling pair Fred and Nemanja Matic in the centre of the park, according to Goal.com.

The midfielder, now at Russian outfit Rostov, has had a fine start to the campaign, winning the Player of the Month award for September in the Russian Premier League and earning his first international cap for Norway.

Normann is a primarily defensive player but has chipped in with one goal and three assists in 11 league outings.

Rostov value their man at between £15m-£20m, with Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla also thought to be interested.
