Bayern Munich signal that Manchester United-linked duo Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Kimmich can leave this summer, according to a report.

Bayern Munich have reportedly signalled that Manchester United-linked duo Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Kimmich will be allowed to leave the club this summer for a suitable price.

The Red Devils are planning to move for a centre-back and a central midfielder this summer, and it has been claimed that De Ligt and Kimmich are viewed as targets by the 20-time English champions.

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern 'urgently' need to make sales this summer in order to boost their squad for the 2024-25 campaign.

As a result, the Munich giants have allegedly placed six players on the transfer list, with De Ligt and Kimmich both available this summer alongside Leon Goretzka, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Noussair Mazraoui.

Man United were one of the clubs competing to sign De Ligt from Ajax in the summer of 2019, but he ultimately made the move to Juventus, spending three years with the Old Lady ahead of a switch to Bayern.

De Ligt, Kimmich 'are both available this summer'

The Netherlands international made 30 appearances for his German club during the 2023-24 campaign, and he has another three years left to run on his contract at Allianz Arena.

Bayern allegedly view the 24-year-old as a player capable of raising a healthy transfer fee this summer, though, and Man United are certainly in the market for a new centre-back.

Raphael Varane's departure on a free transfer has already been confirmed, while there have been claims that Victor Lindelof could leave for the right price this summer.

Jonny Evans is in discussions over a new deal, but he would only be a back-up, which was the original plan for last season, only for the Northern Ireland international to be a vital player due to the team's injury issues.

Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Benfica's Antonio Silva are admired, but De Ligt could be a more affordable option for the 20-time English champions this summer.

Kimmich is seemingly ready to leave Bayern

Kimmich was once again a vital player for Bayern last season, making 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and registering 10 assists in the process.

The 29-year-old's contract at Allianz Arena is due to expire next summer, though, and it does appear that he will be on the move during the upcoming market.

Man United are not the only English club interested, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City also believed to be carefully monitoring his situation in Munich.

Much will depend on price, as the Red Devils will not want to spend big on a player who will be 30 early next year, but he is one of the finest players in Germany, and Bayern have every right to demand a high price, even if his contract only has 12 months left to run.
