Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij is being lined up for a summer move to Manchester United, according to reports.
The 23-year-old centre-back only joined Lazio last summer, but has enjoyed an excellent debut season in Serie A, helping his team to second place in the table.
His fine form has caught the attention of the Red Devils, who have made a bid of £18.9m, reports The Metro.
That offer has been rejected, but the Old Trafford club are likely to return with an improved offer, the newspaper adds.
Louis van Gaal picked de Vrij in his Netherlands squad for the 2014 World Cup, and he was selected in the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team.
