Manchester United's chances of signing Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho could be scuppered by the coronavirus outbreak, according to a report.

Manchester United's chances of signing Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho during this summer's transfer window could reportedly be scuppered by the coronavirus outbreak.

The England international - thought to be valued in the region of £120m - continues to be strongly linked with a move away from his Bundesliga club.

United are considered to be in the driving seat for the 19-year-old, but according to The Mirror, the Red Devils could be forced to scale back their summer spending due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The report claims that 'top officials' at some of the 'major English football clubs' fear that there could be a public backlash if they were to spend huge money when the next transfer window opens.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had allegedly be hoping to spend in the region of £200m on three new players during this summer's transfer window.

However, leading English clubs are now seemingly aware that they will be under scrutiny when the sport finally resumes following months of struggle against the worldwide illness.
