Manchester United will allow Juan Mata and Ander Herrera to leave Old Trafford this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United will reportedly allow Juan Mata and Ander Herrera to leave Old Trafford this summer.

There are expected to be big changes at United ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, with head coach Jose Mourinho looking to put together a squad capable of challenging Manchester City.

According to Marca, Mourinho is not actively looking to sell Mata or Herrera, but the Portuguese will allow the Spanish pair to leave if they seek a summer exit.

Mata has made 35 appearances in all competitions for United this season, but has completed the 90 minutes on just six occasions, while Herrera's campaign has been interrupted by injury.

The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder has been linked with a return to Spain, and the arrival of a new midfielder this summer could see the 28-year-old - who was the club's player of the season last year - move on.
