Jose Mourinho: 'One more player will arrive'

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho confirms that the Red Devils are still actively pursuing a central midfielder this summer.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that the Red Devils are still actively pursuing a central midfielder in order to complete their transfer business for the new season.

Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have already arrived at Old Trafford this summer and it is widely thought that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is the last piece in the Mourinho jigsaw.

The Portuguese has confirmed that one more player will arrive in this transfer window, but hinted that more business could yet occur due to 'unexpected things' that can happen during pre-season.

"We are completely convinced of our market. Our market is four players - one central defender, one midfielder, one striker and one creative player and when we finish that fundamental market, we are balanced," Mourinho told reporters.

"Today we had no Ibrahimovic, no [Marouane] Fellaini, no [Anthony] Martial, no [Morgan] Schneiderlin. So lots of them that are not here yet. The market will be open until August 31 and sometimes things happen that you are not expecting and you have to react. But we are 75% of the way there and when we sign one midfielder, the crucial work will be done."

Mourinho was speaking to the media following Friday's 4-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai.
