Manchester United are reportedly confident of completing a double deal for Bayern Munich duo Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt before the end of the summer transfer window.
Both players have been heavily linked with moves to Old Trafford in recent weeks, but a lack of movement in terms of outgoings means that Man United are not currently in a position to bring in the pair.
The situation is set to change in the near future, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka closing in on a switch to West Ham United, while Victor Lindelof is also expected to depart before the window shuts.
According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man United are 'making progress' in their pursuit of the Bayern duo, and both Mazraoui and De Ligt are set to arrive this month.
Plettenberg claims that Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag 'is pushing' for the pair to arrive, and there have been 'positive and ongoing negotiations between the clubs'.

Man United 'expecting' to sign Mazraoui, De Ligt
De Ligt is already believed to have come to an agreement with Man United over personal terms, and he was thought to be close to moving to Old Trafford before the Red Devils switched their attention to Leny Yoro.
Man United will be without Yoro until November due to a foot injury, which has seen the club step up their attempts to bring in a second centre-back.
Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite is still thought to be a target, but De Ligt is seemingly set to move to Old Trafford to boost Ten Hag's options in the middle of his defence.
De Ligt played under Ten Hag at Ajax, and he has featured on 73 occasions for Bayern over the last two seasons, including 30 outings in all competitions during the 2023-24 campaign.

Mazraoui is 'set' to boost Man United's full-back options
Diogo Dalot is expected to remain Man United's first-choice right-back in the new season, with Mazraoui being signed as a replacement for Wan-Bissaka, who is set to join West Ham.
Mazraoui's arrival would also open the door for Dalot to feature as a left-back if the club continue to have injury issues in that area of the field, with Tyrell Malacia still unavailable and Luke Shaw's ongoing fitness problems a concern for the 20-time English champions.
The Bayern defender also played under Ten Hag at Ajax, and he has represented the Munich giants on 55 occasions in all competitions since arriving in 2022.
West Ham are believed to have made a strong attempt to sign the Morocco international earlier this summer, but he turned down the chance to make the move to the London Stadium.
Man United are also hoping to sign a central midfielder before the transfer window closes, with the club said to be targeting another three players in the final three weeks of the market.
