Newcastle United will not pursue a move for Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial, according to a report.
The Frenchman's agent has claimed that his client is keen to leave the Red Devils in January as he continues to struggle for opportunities in the first XI.
Newcastle have been tipped to make a move for Martial in the January transfer window, with the club's new owners expected to splash the cash in their bid to avoid relegation.
However, Football Insider claims that Martial is not a priority for Eddie Howe, and as a result the Magpies have pulled out of the running to sign the 26-year-old.
The report adds that Howe is focusing on new defensive and midfield signings for Newcastle, and it would have taken a fee of £6m to sign Martial on loan next month.
Furthermore, Martial's extortionate wages - believed to be in the region of £240k per week - are supposedly hindering his chances of a move elsewhere next month.
