PSV Eindhoven sporting director Marcel Brands has said that Kevin Strootman will stay at the Philips Stadion for one more season.
The 23-year-old midfielder has established himself in the Dutch national team since moving from Utrecht two years ago and has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.
However, Brands said that PSV are keen to halt the exodus, which has already seen Dries Mertens, Erik Pieters and Jeremain Lens leave so far this summer.
"We do not want to lose Strootman this summer," he told De Telegraaf. "He knows that he will stay at PSV for another season.
"We already expected Lens and Pieters would leave, but we didn't plan the transfer of Mertens."
Mertens joined Napoli for £8m, while Peters moved to Stoke City and Lens departed for Dynamo Kiev.
