Manchester United are reportedly targeting Angelo Ogbonna and Ezequiel Garay as the long-term successors to Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.
Vidic has been dogged by injuries in the past couple of years and with Ferdinand turning 35 in November, Sir Alex Ferguson has earmarked Ogbonna and Garay as their replacements, according to The People.
Argentine defender Garay, a former Real Madrid player, is currently plying his trade at Benfica, while the 24-year-old Ogbonna has recently forced his way into the Italian national side after impressing for Torino.
However, any potential move for the pair will not happen until the summer.
