Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes has revealed that he expects the forward to finish off his playing career with current club Real Madrid, ruling out any possibility of a return to Manchester United.
Ronaldo had been linked with a potential return to the Red Devils, but those rumours faded after the current Ballon d'Or winner signed a new deal to stay at Real Madrid until June 2018.
The winger will be 33 years old by the time his current contract is up, and Ronaldo's agent believes that he will not be going anywhere else to play in his career.
"I got to know him when he was 15 years old. From then until now we've spoken together on most days. When I'm in Madrid we always meet up. Our relationship is more like a friendship," Mendes said, according to Goal.com.
"I believe that Cristiano will finish his career at Real Madrid. He's happy at the club and is still keen to achieve more success in Madrid.
"Will the club retire his shirt number when he finishes at Madrid? With every respect to the likes of Raul and Di Stefano, no player can compare to Cristiano Ronaldo. He's the best player in history and, I'd suggest, the best sportsperson of all time - we'll never see the likes of Cristiano again. It will be completely impossible."
The Red Devils have also been linked with former Tottenham Hotspur winger and Ronaldo's current teammate Gareth Bale in a sensational move, but the Premier League side are refusing to discuss the rumours and recent speculation.
