A report claims that Alexis Sanchez trained with Arsenal's youth-team players on Thursday, as boss Arsene Wenger prepares for life without the Chilean forward.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has banished wantaway forward Alexis Sanchez to his youth team as his proposed switch to Manchester United drags on.

The two clubs are in the process of finalising an agreement for the Chile international, who is expected to be involved in a swap deal that will see Henrikh Mkhitaryan head the opposite way.

Wenger left Sanchez out of his squad to face Bournemouth last weekend and, according to The Times, the ex-Barcelona star was told to train away from his senior teammates on Thursday afternoon.

Sanchez, in line to become the highest-paid player in the Premier League when completing his move, instead linked up with the reserves side which is largely made up of youth-team players.

United have until midday on Friday to get the deal over the line if the 29-year-old is to be registered in time to take on Burnley at the weekend.
