Tottenham Hotspur reportedly face competition from Manchester United to bring their former midfield star Luka Modric back to the Premier League from Real Madrid.
The 32-year-old has thrived at the Bernabeu since joining from Spurs in 2012, winning 10 major honours - including three Champions League titles - and finishing fifth in this week's Ballon d'Or running.
According to Diario Gol, however, Modric fears that his time in the Spanish capital is coming to an end and he has even informed teammate Sergio Ramos that he expects to leave in the summer.
Tottenham and United are both rumoured to have shown an interest, but Inter Milan have already made contact with the Croatia international's agent and are currently leading the race for his signature.
Modric spent four years at Tottenham before moving on in a £30m deal, which was pushed through by now-Man United boss Jose Mourinho.
