Louis van Gaal: 'Spending talk is disgusting'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal describes reports regarding his potential transfer plans for the January transfer window as "disgusting".

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes that reports suggesting that he could spend as much as £150m during the January transfer window are "disrespectful" to his players.

According to The Mirror, Van Gaal will be handed a warchest next month to further improve the squad at Old Trafford, but the former Netherlands coach has slammed the reports that emerged on Friday morning.

The Dutchman told reporters: "I think it is disgusting always writing about numbers. I don't think that Ed Woodward or I have said anything about it.

"It's disrespectful to my players and I don't like talking about it. I have to work with the selection I have."

United currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League table.
