Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United move 'came close to collapsing'

Manchester United reportedly faced the embarrassment of missing out on the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka after Crystal Palace threatened to pull the plug on a deal.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's £45m move to Manchester United reportedly came close to collapsing on Friday because of a late demand made by Crystal Palace.

The 21-year-old has already been pictured in a United top and details of his six-year contract - the longest ever handed to a United player - have been leaked.

United have still not yet made an official announcement, though, and The Sun claims that the transfer almost fell through completely.

Palace are said to have asked for a 10% sell-on clause, which United were reluctant to agree.

However, the Red Devils are rumoured to have eventually relented to avoid the embarrassment of Palace pulling the plug on the move.

United are expected to pay £45m up front for Wan-Bissaka, with a further £5m in add-ons.
