Manchester United winger Ashley Young is on the verge of signing a new contract with the club, according to reports.
Young was heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford last summer following the arrival of Louis van Gaal, but went on to be praised for his performances throughout the campaign.
The 30-year-old was often preferred to British record signing Angel di Maria as United regained their place in the Champions League with a fourth-placed finish.
However, with his contract due to expire at the end of next season, reports had suggested that Young could leave this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur among those thought to be interested.
That speculations appears to be unfounded, though, as talkSPORT reports that the England international is close to agreeing a new deal with the Red Devils, although the length of the contract has not been disclosed.
Young joined United from Aston Villa in 2011 and has since gone on to score 13 goals in 115 appearances for the club.
