The visitors, meanwhile, are aiming to clinch consecutive victories after beating Reading 2-1 in their most recent encounter.

Manchester United are one of only three teams who are yet to drop points in the WSL ahead of the weekend's round of fixtures.

The Red Devils have performed well at both ends of the pitch in their opening two league games, thrashing Reading 4-0 before claiming a 2-0 victory over West Ham United.

As a result of consecutive clean sheets in the WSL, Man United and Arsenal are the only two sides still to concede in the WSL this season.

However, Marc Skinner's side were unable to keep Aston Villa at bay when they drew 1-1 against the Midlands side in the League Cup before the international break, and they also missed out on a bonus point after losing the subsequent penalty shootout to the Villans.

With the WSL set to resume following the international break, United will be confident of claiming a third consecutive league victory after beating Brighton in their last two meetings.

Brighton's season began with a difficult away meeting with title hopefuls Arsenal, which ultimately ended in a disappointing 4-0 defeat.

The opening-day loss was quickly forgotten though, as the Seagulls earned their first victory of the season on matchday two when they played host to Reading

Lee Geum-min and Katie Robinson both scored a goal apiece to wrap up a 2-1 win that leaves Brighton in seventh place ahead of the weekend.

However, the Seagulls will enter Sunday's fixture off the back of a poor result following a 3-2 defeat to Championship side Birmingham City in the League Cup before the international break.

Including last season, Brighton have now lost their last four away games in all competitions and having conceded 15 goals across their defeats, a considerable improvement is needed if they are to claim a positive result on Sunday.

Team News

Alessia Russo in action for Manchester United Women on September 17, 2022© Reuters

Manchester United will be without the services of Alessia Russo despite the England international returning to training on Wednesday following an injury issue.

With Russo unavailable, Skinner may present Adriana Leon with her first league start for the club, with the summer signing looking to score her first United goal.

Meanwhile, Maya Le Tissier has started all three games this season after arriving from Brighton in the summer, and the defender will retain her place in the lineup for the home game against her former side.

As for the hosts, they are still unable to call upon Maisie Symonds, Megan Connolly and Rebekah Stott due to injury problems.

Victoria Williams is expected to partner Kayleigh Green in central defence, and the pair will have their work cut out to restrict a United side who have scored six goals in two league games.

Lee will provide one of Brighton's main goal threats as the forward attempts to score in a third consecutive game in all competitions.

Manchester United Women possible starting lineup:
Earps; Batlle, Le Tissier, Turner, Blundell; Ladd, Zelem; Garcia, Toone, Galton; Leon

Brighton & Hove Albion Women possible starting lineup:
Walsh; Fox, Williams, Green, Pattinson; Bance, Zigiotti Olme, Sarri; Robinson, Terland, Lee

We say: Manchester United Women 3-0 Brighton & Hove Albion Women

Man United have set their stall out in their opening two league games, suggesting a serious top-three challenge is on the cards, and we think that they will maintain their 100% record in the WSL with a comfortable victory on Sunday.
