Billel Omrani proud to open Marseille scoring account

Marseille youngster Billel Omrani speaks of his pride after opening his scoring account for Marseille in their recent 2-1 defeat at the hands of Montpellier HSC.

Marseille youngster Billel Omrani has spoken of his pride at grabbing his first goal for the club during their surprise 2-1 defeat to Montpellier HSC in Ligue 1.

The 21-year-old Frenchman opened his Marseille account, but his side fell short following goals from Kevin Berigaud and Paul Lasne at the Stade de la Mosson.

"The joy at scoring my first goal for OM is spoiled by the final result. But it is still a source of pleasure to score my first goal for Marseille," said Omrani, according to the official Ligue 1 website.

"I would have liked us to win the game, but it wasn't to be. Every team is better in front of their own fans, but we will try to start getting results away from home."

The young forward has started to gather interest in the French league following some impressive performances while on loan at Arles-Avignon last season.
