Andre Ayew says that he is "happy" at Marseille and is delighted with his side's second-placed finish in Ligue 1 this season.

Marseille forward Andre Ayew has said that he could remain at the French club next season.

The 23-year-old was linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 outfit this summer, but he now says that he is "happy" at the former champions.

"For the moment, the season isn't finished - but after that we'll sit down with the president and see what the club wants and what we can do, if we continue together or not," he told Le Phoceen. "I'm happy here. I could stay.

"Where we are today, we only owe it to ourselves - the players, the staff, the coach. No-one imagined us being in this position. We've been on the podium all season long, but sometimes we came back home and the fans were against us. Things like that hurt.

"They weren't happy, and we didn't know why, but we have given everything for the club. We don't have any regrets. It was a transition year, but we did the most important thing - getting the club back in the Champions League."

Marseille will finish second in Ligue 1 this season.
