Marseille president Vincent Labrune has played down talk linking Loic Remy with a move away from the French club.
The 25-year-old striker recently claimed that he was impressed with Newcastle United, while Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United are also thought to be keen on his signature.
Despite the rumours, Labrune has admitted that the Ligue 1 side are looking to buy players instead of selling them in the New Year.
"I'm not looking for a way out for Loic," he told Le Parisien. "I like him and I know his potential.
"I don't have to sell this winter, we're rather in a position to buy one or two players to help continue the best start to a season the club has made in nearly 20 years."
Marseille are currently in third place in the Ligue 1 table.
