Marseille president Vincent Labrune has told mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain that there is "only one big club" in France.
Les Parisiens have spent big since being taken over by Qatar Investment Authority, who have invested a reported £84 million on players since their August takeover.
However, despite trailing second-placed PSG by 13 points, Labrune has said that there is not much difference between the two teams.
"We're not going to tell stories. In France, there is one big club, not two, and it is Olympique Marseille," Labrune told website So Foot.
"PSG has spent hundreds of millions of euros on transfers this year, that is to say more than 10 times than us.
"However, when I watch my team and their team I say to myself: 'If we hadn't blown the first part of the season, we would match PSG'."
Marseille are currently eighth in Ligue 1 and sit just a point off fifth-placed Lyon.
