Aitor Karanka targets winning style at Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka wants his team to win matches at any cost.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has said that his priority is to make his team win matches.

The former Real Madrid assistant coach was given the top job at the Riverside Stadium last week on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

"The best way of playing is when the supporters go back home having seen their team win," he told the Evening Gazette.

"I always laugh at the comment football has to be played the right way, because the right way is to win football matches.

"Yes, we want it to be attractive, we want it to be all the things you want it to be - but it's very rare to get everything you want."

Middlesbrough are currently 16th in the Championship with 16 points from 15 matches.
