John Marquis has signed a new one-year contract with Millwall.
It appeared that the striker's time with the South Londoners was coming to an end, with his deal due to expire in June.
However, the 23-year-old, who spent part of last season on loan with Gillingham, has been convinced to commit his future to the League One outfit until the summer of 2016, with the option of those terms being extended by a further 12 months.
"I'm absolutely delighted that John has signed his new deal," manager Neil Harris told the club's official website.
"I watched him on many occasions during his time at Gillingham and he put in some top performances. John has shown he has what it takes to score regularly at the level we're going to be playing at.
"He has a great character and is a real winner. John's attitude is fantastic and I know how determined he is to play and score goals for Millwall."
Marquis has made 53 appearances for the Lions since he progressed through the club's academy.
