Kenny Jackett backs Neil Harris to succeed at Millwall

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett believes that Millwall have made an "excellent appointment" after handing Neil Harris the managerial role at The Den.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has backed Neil Harris to be a success in his first managerial role with Millwall.

On Wednesday, Harris was handed the permanent position at The Den despite the club suffering relegation to League One, but Jackett, who spent nearly six years with the Lions before his arrival at Molineux, has praised the 37-year-old ahead of the fixture between the two clubs.

The 53-year-old told Sports Mole: "In my time at Millwall, Neil was an excellent professional. He's the record goalscorer at the club and he will know what makes Millwall tick.

"He's been working away in the background with the Under-21 side for a couple of years, which will be good for him and stand him in good stead. He also has Dave Livermore there who is similar to him - a popular ex player who has been working at youth level over the past few years."

"They are very good appointments by the club and they will do well. In terms of Neil who was a player there for myself, you won't have seen a better professional."

Wolves must defeat Millwall and hope results go their way in order to earn a place in the Championship playoffs.
