League Two Player of the Month nominees announced

Morecambe striker Shaun Miller is among the four nominees to win League Two's Player of the Month for October following his six strikes.

Morecambe striker Shaun Miller helped fire his side to three victories to earn a nomination for League Two's Player of the Month award for October.

The 28-year-old failed to score in his first seven league matches of the season, but did open his account in his side's narrow defeat to Bristol Rovers.

Miller then notched braces in the Shrimps' wins over Carlisle United and AFC Wimbledon before firing his sixth strike of the month against Crawley Town.

Defender Curtis Nelson helped Plymouth Argyle maintain their charge for promotion from the division as he was part of a backline that conceded just three goals in six matches.

Derek Adams's men kept four clean sheets in October to improve their already formidable defensive record, with Nelson at the heart of their efforts.

Northampton Town charged up the table into the playoff spots courtesy of four victories over the month as they notched 13 goals in their six matches.

Nicky Adams was at the forefront of their success as he created seven of the strikes from his position on the left wing to earn his nomination.

Matty Taylor found the net three times over the course of the month to guide Bristol Rovers to late victories over Mansfield Town and Cambridge United to move his team into mid-table.

The winner of the award will be announced on Friday.
