Draw at Nantes enough to put Lyon into top four

A goalless draw away to Nantes is enough to help Lyon climb into the top four of Ligue 1.

Lyon have moved up to fourth place in Ligue 1 following their 0-0 draw away to Nantes.

Maxime Dupe was the busier of the two goalkeepers in the opening stages, pulling off early saves to deny Claudio Beauvue and Maxime Gonalons.

Gonalons came close just after the half-hour mark when he got his head to Arnold Mvuemba's corner and rattled the crossbar as Lyon turned up the pressure.

Nantes's best chance of the first half fell two minutes before half time when Emiliano Sala found himself clean through on goal, but was unable to find a way past the onrushing Mathieu Gorgelin.

With 10 minutes of the second half played, Beauvue squandered an opportunity to put Lyon in front when he failed to hit the target after Steed Malbranque picked him out with a deft through-ball.

Lyon dominated possession throughout the match, but it was Nantes who had the chance to take all three points in the final minute when Yacine Bammou's last-ditch shot was saved.

The stalemate leaves Nantes in 10th place with 21 points from 16 matches.
