Johnny Heitinga says that the Netherlands match with Germany is a must-win for the Dutch.

Netherlands defender Johnny Heitinga has insisted that only a win will do when they face Germany on Wednesday night.

The Dutch were one of the pre-tournament favourites but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Group B outsiders Denmark in their opening game.

They now meet one of the big contenders to win Euro 2012 in Germany, who beat Portugal in their first match, and the Everton defender says that anything less than a win isn't good enough for his country.

"It is going to be a battle but we have to show that we can become champions," said Heitinga.

"We have to win now, there's no excuse, and we are aware of that. We know we have to win against the Germans."

Netherlands take on Germany in one of the most-anticipated games of the tournament on Wednesday in their second Group B match.
