Greek side Atromitos promise Newcastle United a tough tie when the two teams meet in the Europa League later this month.

Atrmoitos manager Dusan Bajevic has promised that Newcastle United can expect a tough tie when the two sides meet in a Europa League playoff.

Friday's draw matched the Magpies against Atrmoitos, who finished fourth in last season's Greek Super League.

Bajevic thinks that his team have a chance to catch Newcastle cold in the first leg of the tie.

He told the club's official website: "English football is popular worldwide and has its own characteristics, but we will not surrender.

"We will try with all our might. We have a chance and we will be ready by the time the first game comes round at home."

Alan Pardew's side could face a trip to Greece on Thursday, August 23 - less than 48 hours before they are due to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
