John Carver: 'I'm going nowhere'

Newcastle United boss John Carver says that he does not intend to leave the club after they secured Premier League safety.

Newcastle United head coach John Carver has said that he does not intend to leave the club after they avoided relegation from the Premier League.

The Magpies secured their status in the top flight with a 2-0 victory over West Ham United at St James' Park on the final day of the season.

"I want this job by the way," Carver told the Shields Gazette. "I'm not going anywhere unless they tell me I'm going somewhere else.

"We all know we've made mistakes. I've had assurances that we're going to spend money.

"The fans can now go away, have their summer holidays, look forward to players coming through the door."

Carver has won just three of his 20 games in charge of Newcastle.
