Newcastle boss Alan Pardew insists that his side are not sliding down the Premier League table after two defeats in two games.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew claims that 'the bubble hasn't burst' after his side's slip down the Premier League table.

Despite an unbeaten start to the season, the Magpies currently sit seventh after Saturday's defeat at Norwich City.

The loss at Carrow Road has made it four games since the North East club's last league win.

"We went down to 10 men and we were still in the game, so it would be very harsh to suggest that the bubble has burst," said Pardew.

"Every game is a big one for us. We are in a situation where we have got a nice points tally, but we have come into a run against the top teams and lost players to injury. We are just having one of those little injury runs and that is affecting us."

Newcastle host Swansea City in the league on Saturday.
