Demba Ba will reportedly activate a release clause in his contract if Newcastle United do not double his wages.
Ba currently earns around £40,000 per week on Tyneside but wants £90,000 and Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is unlikely to acquiesce to the striker's demands, according to The People.
The situation means that the Senegal forward will look to trigger a line in his deal that would allow him to move clubs for £7.5m.
It is believed that Liverpool head the queue for the former Hoffenheim man.
