Steve Bruce, Alan Shearer to replace Alan Pardew at Newcastle United?

Newcastle United are set to sack under-fire boss Alan Pardew this week and replace him with Hull City manager Steve Bruce, according to reports.

Steve Bruce is reportedly set to be named Newcastle United manager this week, with owner Mike Ashley close to sacking Alan Pardew.

The People claims that the Hull City boss will step into the hotseat at St James' Park and will look to appoint former Magpies striker and one-time manager, Alan Shearer as his number two.

United fans were seen to be calling for Pardew's head during the 4-0 defeat at Southampton, and it is rumoured that Ashley has lost patience with the 53-year-old former West Ham United coach.

Incidentally, Newcastle's next Premier League fixture is against Hull, whom Bruce guided to safety in their first season back in the Premier League, and took to the FA Cup Final, where they were beaten by Arsenal.
