Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback on a half-season loan deal.
The 28-year-old had failed to feature for the Magpies in the Premier League this term after an alleged falling-out with manager Rafael Benitez last summer and was made available for transfer.
A number of Championship sides had been keen on the former Sunderland man's signature but had been put off by his high wages, although Forest have now confirmed his arrival on a deal running until the end of the campaign.
Newcastle were believed to be keen on a permanent move away for Colback, whose current contract expires at the end of next season, and will now reevaluate his future in the summer.
Colback could make his debut for his new side when they travel to Fulham on Saturday.
