Newcastle United confirm Mike Williamson has joined Wolves on loan

Newcastle United confirm that defender Mike Williamson has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a one-month loan.

Newcastle United have announced that defender Mike Williamson has left the club to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on a month-long loan.

The 31-year-old has struggled for regular first-team football under manager Steve McClaren having made two appearances in the Capital One Cup this season.

Williamson heads to Molineux as defensive cover for the Championship outfit due to injuries suffered to Kortney Hause and Ethan Ebanks-Landell.

The Englishman could make his Wolves debut in Saturday's Midlands derby against Birmingham City.
