Wolverhampton Wanderers 'to sign Mike Williamson on loan'

Wolverhampton Wanderers will complete the loan signing of Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson on Thursday, according to reports.

Wolverhampton Wanderers will reportedly sign Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson on loan on Thursday.

The 31-year-old has not played in the Premier League this season for the Magpies, and according to the Express & Star, Williamson will head to the Championship club on a one-month loan deal.

Wolves are looking to add to their defensive options, with Kortney Hause and Ethan Ebanks-Landell out injured and Dominic Iorfa a doubt for Saturday's derby game against Birmingham City.

Williamson has made 150 appearances over five years at St James' Park, scoring one goal.
