Andros Townsend can reportedly leave Newcastle United for £8m in the summer if the club drops into the Championship.
The winger arrived on Tyneside from Tottenham Hotspur in January for £12m.
However, should the Magpies fall into England's second tier, Townsend can be signed for £4m less, according to The People.
The report adds, though, that the 10-capped England international has no intention of forcing through an exit, regardless of what division Newcastle are in.
With six matches left to play, 19th-placed Newcastle are six points from safety.
