West Ham United's Alou Diarra frustrated with Fulham defeat

Alou Diarra says that he is disappointed by West Ham United's 2-1 defeat against Fulham in the Premier League.

Alou Diarra has revealed his disappointment following West Ham United's 2-1 defeat against Fulham on New Year's Day.

The Hammers took the lead early on through Mohamed Diame, but Steve Sidwell's strike levelled the scores before a goal from Dimitar Berbatov settled the game.

France international Diarra admitted that it was a poor result, but insists they can recover from their poor run of form.

"It wasn't the result we wanted," he told the club's official website. "We lost at Fulham and it was difficult to play 10 against 11 for the second half.

"We tried to do our best, but we were unlucky in the end. We scored the first goal and had a big chance to score a second, so to concede from a corner was a big disappointment. Now we must recover and win the next game.

"It is frustrating that we've had the lead in the last three games and only taken one point from them. It's not enough and we must do better. But if we continue to play with this solidarity, it will get easier for us."

West Ham United are currently 19th in the Premier League table.
