Harry Redknapp: 'Tottenham Hotspur could have advantage over Arsenal'

Ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp claims that his old side could have the advantage over Arsenal in the North London Derby due to the difficulty of their European game this week.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has suggested that his old side could have the advantage over Arsenal in the North London Derby due to their European exploits.

The two sides meet for the first time in the league this season at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, with the Gunners going into the game off the back of their Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Spurs, meanwhile, face Anderlecht in the Europa League this evening, and Redknapp has claimed that their game will not be as intense as Arsenal's was.

"Arsenal have it all to do in Sunday's derby. Preparation will be much tougher for them, even though Tottenham play tonight," he told the London Evening Standard.

"Last night's game against Bayern Munich was much more intensive than Spurs' match against Anderlecht will be. Arsenal couldn't rest anyone and got back to London in the early hours of this morning, which is never ideal.

"Spurs are playing an average team tonight. They could make six changes and still probably win. There is no comparison between the magnitude of the games and Arsenal have to recover their confidence after a heavy defeat."

Arsenal beat Spurs 2-1 at White Hart Lane when the sides met in the Capital One Cup earlier this season.
