Neil Adams "will not hesitate" to use Norwich City youngsters

New Norwich City boss Neil Adams reveals that he "will not hesitate" to call upon the club's youth team players as he tries to guide the Canaries to Premier League safety.

New Norwich City boss Neil Adams has revealed that "he will not hesitate" to use the club's youngsters as he tries to steer them away from relegation trouble.

The Canaries, who are five points clear of the Premier League drop zone, sacked Chris Hughton on Sunday and appointed youth team coach Adams to replace him.

The 48-year-old guided Norwich's next generation to the FA Youth Cup last season and has admitted that his familiarity with the club's junior players may mean that some of them are thrown into the first XI before the end of the season.

"Obviously I have got a great knowledge of the young players," he told reporters. "I have a good knowledge of them all and any player I feel will do us a job I won't hesitate to use them.

"We have got to go and pick a team to win a game at Fulham and, rightly so, I can understand people making a lot of reference to the Youth Cup team, because it was a fantastic achievement and one we were extremely proud of.

"If I feel any of those players are ready to come in and give us a hand then age is not a barrier. Equally, I know their strengths and weaknesses and what they are capable of, and of course that will come into my thinking when we sit down to pick a team."

Norwich face Fulham, who are directly below them in the table, at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.
