Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy wants the club to shore up their back four while scoring more goals in next season's Premier League.

Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy has said that the club must "tighten up" at the back while scoring more goals up front in order to build on their Premier League success from last season.

The Canaries finished in 12th position on their return to the top flight last season, joint with West Brom and Swansea on 47 points in mid-table.

Despite this, Ruddy knows the club must especially do better at the back.

He said: "You know you are always going to be busy in a league like this, but last season, we only managed something like three clean sheets and we want to build on that."

The stopper, who is with the squad at a pre-season training camp in Austria, says the side should be able to win games by just scoring a single goal.

"We need to tighten things up because last season you felt we always had to score two goals to give ourselves a chance of winning, whereas this season we would like to say 'right, we will score one and still win," he added.

"That is the aim, and if we can score more goals than last season and let in less, then that is a good recipe."

Norwich begin the new season with a trip to Fulham on August 18.
