Police investigate alleged racist comments about Norwich City's Chris Hughton

Police look into alleged online racist comments made about Norwich City manager Chris Hughton.

Norwich City have announced that police are looking into alleged racist comments about manager Chris Hughton written online.

The Premier League outfit released a statement claiming that the offensive remarks were made on Facebook page '**OFFICIAL**!!! Ipswich - Norwich fans banter/insult/joke page', which is not officially associated to the Canaries nor Championship outfit Ipswich Town.

Anti-racism organisation Kick It Out reported the comments to police after noticing them online, and Norwich have reiterated their zero-tolerance policy on racism.

Norwich's statement read: "The club has been made aware of racist language about our manager Chris Hughton posted on an unofficial fans' Facebook page in the last few days and the matter has been reported to the police as a hate crime.

"Kick It Out, football's equality and inclusion campaign, have reported the comments made as a hate crime to the police and Norwich City totally supports this stance. We are in dialogue with Kick It Out and Ipswich Town and will co-operate fully with the police investigation into the incident."

The club have also confirmed that any fan found guilty of racism will be hit with a lifetime ban from Carrow Road.
