Chris Cohen to continue as Nottingham Forest captain

Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce confirms that Chris Cohen will keep the captain's armband for the new season.

Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce has confirmed that he will not be taking the captain's armband away from Chris Cohen.

The 27-year-old missed the majority of last season due to a serious knee injury, but Pearce insists the doubts that remain over his fitness are not enough for a new club captain to be needed.

"I think Chris is everything you would want as a captain," the Forest boss revealed to reporters. "I have met him as a man. He has been out on the training pitch, only on a running basis, not contact.

"In the way he conducts himself, he is everything you want in a captain. I have been very impressed with him."

Forest begin their Championship campaign by hosting Blackpool on August 9.
