Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi has confirmed that the club have signed Kuwait goalkeeper Khalid Al Rashidi.
The 25-year-old, who was a free agent after leaving al Arabi, underwent a trial period with the Championship club last summer, but had a work permit rejected.
"A great honour for me to announce that NFFC have been granted a work permit for Khalid Al Rashidi to become the first Kuwaiti to play in England," Al Hasawi wrote on his Twitter account.
Forest are understood to be in the market for a host of new players in the winter window.
