Oldham Athletic manager Paul Dickov has admitted that he is hopeful of agreeing a deal to extend Matt Derbyshire's stay at Boundary Park.
Derbyshire will return to parent club Nottingham Forest at the end of this week, but after six goals in 17 appearances, Dickov has revealed that he would like to retain Derbyshire's services for the remainder of the season.
Dickov told BBC Radio Manchester: "It will be his last game of this loan spell [on Saturday], but we're hopeful we can get something done in January."
Derbyshire has helped Oldham to 16th place in the League One table.
